CONFESSIONS OF A BELL FAN: Meet Renee!

Today's confessions come from one of our biggest fans, Renee! Renee has been a dedicated follower of SBTB:NOW! almost from the very beginning. She is a big fan of the show since 1994 and the biggest Tiffani-Amber Thiessen fan you'll ever meet! She's our Buddy Bands designer, too! It's always good to hear from her because she's an overall sweetheart. Enjoy her confessions!
Remember, it is really easy to be a part of our CONFESSIONS. Just answer the following questions and email your answers to sbtbnow@aol.com and you will be featured on our blog!

1) What is your most fondest memory of the show growing up?

I have 2 memories. A) waiting a week or two to see the wedding in Las Vegas movie. I saw a commercial for it and I flipped out! I seriously could not wait to see it. the night it was on I remember that friday we went on a field trip to this local park. and I remember thinking my god when will this day be over so I can watch the wedding movie! lol
B) my mom willing to buy me a million teen magazines about sbtb and the upcoming wedding movie. for a while she had tried to find stuff I wanted/enjoyed to read because I had trouble with reading. and I was supposed to practice with books and things. but she couldn't get me to do it because I was picky and wasn't interested in reading anything. until I heard about the sbtb wedding movie. I can honestly say that my reading level went up that year from reading all my magazines and sbtb books.

2) If you change one element of the show, what would it be?

I would change Kelly and Jessie not being in all of the last season episodes. those episodes are not the same without them in it. adding Tori was interesting but it would have worked better if she was a new added friend instead of a replacement for the other 2 beloved characters. I know it was the actors who wanted out so I know it couldn't happen. but I still wish we had had more senior year episodes with Kelly and Jessie.

3) Who is your inner character and why?

My inner character I would say would be Kelly. I'm honestly not really totally like any of the characters. but I idolized her. she was good at everything, sweet, and popular. she was the person everybody loved. and that was kind of what I wanted to be like as a kid. and I was always one of the "nice kids" that was nice to everyone and wanted everyone to like me. so I guess I was like her a bit in that way.

4) Have you ever experienced a moment in life that you could relate to SBTB? explain.

Probably many actually. but the one that comes to mind was when I was in high school. my math teacher just up and left for some reason. so we had subs coming in and out to teach the class. and one time we had this guy come in who was literally insane. he reminded me of all the nutty teachers they had on sbtb. I was like I'm living in a sbtb episode! lol later I learned my sister in middle school had him too. he was making the rounds in the district and was then taken out because of all the parents complaints. He was clearly mentally unstable. but it was pretty funny!

Tiffani Thiessen Can’t Wait To Arrange Playdates With Mario Lopez So Their Kids Can Be Friends!

Tiffani grew up with Mario on Saved by the Bell — now she wants her little girl, Harper, to grow up with Mario’s daughter, Gia!
By: Lindsey DiMattina

Tiffani Thiessen spent four years working side-by-side with Mario Lopez on Saved By the Bell, and the pair developed a friendship that’s still strong — 17 years after their show ended. The new mom to baby girl Harper Renn Smith says she can’t wait to set up playdates with Mario’s 2-week-old daughter, Gia Francesca Lopez! “I will absolutely [arrange playdates] when they’re a little older,” Tiffani told HollyBaby.com exclusively at the Juno Jr. Launch event at FAO Schwarz in NYC on Sept. 25. “Mario just had her. [And Harper,] she’s three-and-a-half months … so when the baby is a little bit older, of course!”

Right now, both Tiffani and Mario are focused on being first-time parents. “He’s really busy right now,” Tiffani explained. “I’m very busy right now, but we text each other every now and then” to keep in touch.

“It’s a lot,” Tiffani said of her jam-packed mommy schedule. “When you give birth, that second eye [on the back of your head] always happens right there. That’s why I’m kind of looking over there to make sure she’s OK. She’s getting a little fussy,” she added as she looked over at Harper.

And until the craziness calms down, at least Tiffani has her own mom around to help out. “She’s been here for two-and-a-half months helping,” Tiffani said.

But no matter how busy she gets, Tiffani (who told us she wants to have more kids one day) wouldn’t have it any other way. “I didn’t want to have too many expectations,” Tiffani said, “But my biggest thing is that I actually couldn’t believe that I could fall so much in love with something so little.”

The Belding Brothers Reunite in a NEW Documentary!

Save the Empire Productions describe themselves and this new documentary called "Saved by the Belding" as:

"Four naive young men journey to California in hopes of finding the truth about the infamous Rod Belding of "Saved By The Bell" fame. Starring Ed Blatchford and Dennis Haskins. Directed by The Hamilton Brothers."

The new film is actually a sequel to a documentary they shot in 2009, which was all about Rod Belding and his disappearance. It got some attention on Youtube and led to both Dennis Haskins (Mr.Belding) and Ed Blatchford (Rod Belding) wanting to do a sequel where they actually go out to find "Rod Belding".

Here is the original documentary directed by Matt and Scott Hamilton. Below it is the trailer to the sequel "Saved by the Belding", where both Ed and Dennis make an appearance! Full documentary will be released sometime this fall.

This is actually pretty AMAZING!!! We are happy to share this with all of you. I am sure you want to know and learn more and we'll have an exclusive interview with these dedicated BELL fans coming up very soon! Congratulations Save the Empire Productions!

CONFESSIONS OF A BELL FAN: Meet Alexis!

Today's BELL FAN CONFESSIONS we here from Alexis. He has been a huge fan since the early days of BELL and I am excited to share his confessions with you! Enjoy! Remember, it is really easy to be a part of our CONFESSIONS. Just answer the following questions and email your answers to sbtbnow@aol.com and you will be featured on our blog!

1) What is your most fondest memory of the show growing up?

I remember when Zack and Kelly broke up. It was devastating. It felt like I WAS breaking up with my girlfriend. That hit home really hard for me. Oh yeah, and for years after the show was over, my brother and I thought that WE were the only people in the world who remembered Jessie's Song "I'm so excited". Little did we know the phenomenon it became.

2) If you change one element of the show, what would it be?

There really isn't anything to change at all. Maybe it could use a better bridge between the Miss Bliss years and Bayside, but that's just picking at nits at this point. Did you ever catch that Belding and AC are wearing Bayside SEAGULLS JR HIGH SCHOOL shirts in The Election episode?

3) Who is your inner character and why?

Of course I'd say either Zack or Slater, but in reality I'm probably more of a Screech. :/ I'll split the difference and say Kevin the robot.

4) Have you ever experienced a moment in life that you could relate to SBTB? explain.

I related Bell to real life everyday! If I had to pick a single day, it would be my high school graduation day. I remember the feeling of accomplishment and sadness that day and re-experienced it when the Bayside Kids finally left the airwaves. It's hard to say goodbye to old friends.

BELL FLASHBACK: RARE! 1990 BELL Media Tour with Mark-Paul, Tiffani and Mario!

This is my favorite BELL Flashback post yet! Rare images of Mark-Paul, Tiffani and Mario on a BELL Media Tour in 1990. You always hear the cast talk about the "mall tours" that they were mobbed at. When you open the image, take a look at the picture of the swab of fans located on the bottom right hand corner of the image. How cool are these?! More of these will come soon in black and white! Enjoy!

VIDEO: Tiffani Stops to Chat about National Gingivitis Awareness Month!

Tiffani Thiessen stopped by a local NYC morning news program to talk about her role as Elizabeth in the hit show on the USA Network's White Collar. She is also working with Crest to declare September as "National Gingivitis Awareness Month," in conjunction with the launch of Pro-Health® Clinical Gum Protection Toothpaste.

Thiessen discussed the importance of dental health and to raise awareness of the fact that gingivitis affects more than 50% of the population. If left untreated, gingivitis can lead to more serious forms of gum disease and tooth loss in adults.

She was at New York 's Greeley Square to attend an event to kick-off National Gingivitis Awareness Month today. Attendees joined Crest and Thiessen in pledging their support for Gingivitis Awareness Month by posting a pledge to improve their oral health on a Pledge Wall.

Mario is a Proud New Dad to a GIRL, Gia Francesca!

Mario Lopez, Mary Bauer (Bratt Decor) and Courtney Mazza

Over the weekend, Mario became a proud dad to baby girl, Gia Francesca Lopez! His girlfriend and new mom, Courtney Mazza, gave birth to Gia on Saturday, September 11, weighing in at 6llb, 4 oz, in Burbank, CA. Mother and baby are doing well.

"We are so overjoyed. What an amazing, wonderful and overwhelming experience to welcome our daughter into the world," Mario told "Extra."

"Mazza is a rock star! She was so tough and so strong during the whole thing. I peeked over too much... you don't want to do that cause there was a lot going on right there. It was like a 'CSI' episode. So I went back and this beautiful baby girl came out. She's precious."

Lopez had to catch a flight from an engagement in Las Vegas to make it to Burbank in time for the birth. "Mazza called me and said 'I'm in labor,' and I thought it was a practical joke. Then when my mom and sister started blowin' up my phone and tellin' me it's really happening. There was one flight left and we had to rush to get it, and we barely made it!"

"I feel amazing!" Lopez gushed. "The whole thing is so surreal, and it happened so quick. I just want to go and stare at her, check her out and just look at her. She's chubby, and she looks so cute."

"I woke up this morning as a regular guy and going to bed tonight as a father."

Take a peek at Gia's nursery!

SBTB:NOW! Blog Exclusive: NEW Confessions of a BELL Fan! Meet Tony!

Today we hear from SBTB:NOW! member Tony. I enjoyed reading his confessions and hope you will, too! Thank you so much for participating Tony!

Remember: We are still looking for more confessions to post. Don't forget to send in your answers. Your confessions will be featured on our blog! Just e-mail your responses to sbtbnow@aol.com

1) What is your most fondest memory of the show growing up?

I may be an unusual example in that I came to SBTB fairly late in life. I first started watching the show by accident. My son was born in 1991, and Channel 4 here in the UK were showing SBTB on Sunday mornings. I remember I would sit in bed feeding my son and watching the show. I have fond memories of that. I had previously watched Good Morning Miss Bliss on occasion, and I remember being fascinating at seeing Hayley Mills in an American show, but after SBTB started airing I was hooked and became a regular viewer, watching all the way through the series as it aired. I also picked up some of the College Years, and the New Class, but by then I was extremely busy with two kids, and the scheduling was not convenient. I plan to get the DVDs at some point to remedy that.

2) If you change one element of the show, what would it be?

There's probably nothing I would change. I think SBTB was one of those shows that just hit the sweet spot. Like most fans I would have liked the show to run for longer, and for the College Years to have had greater success. I would also have liked to see Hayley Mills continue with the series somehow.

3) Who is your inner character and why?

Being older, and now having teenage kids myself, I probably most relate to Mr. Belding in the show. I was a college lecturer for 7 years, so I know what it's like to be surrounded by smart kids giving me the run around! I can also relate to that aspect of being older and sometimes wiser, and trying to pass that hard earned knowledge and experience on - but young people know better! It's ironic, but as the cast grows older I can relate to the actors far more. MPG was recently divorced, and like me has two children, and being divorced myself I can certainly relate to what he's going through, and what he will go through in the future with regards that.

4) Have you ever experienced a moment in life that you could relate to SBTB? explain.

I went back to college part-time from 1992-1994 to complete my MSc. I felt old at the time, but I was only 30, which seems young now. :) It was great being a student again, and meeting other "mature" students like myself. We used to hang out in our building's small refectory, which conjured up images of being in The Max.

BELL FLASHBACK: Bayside Girls in the BELL Wardrobe Dep't!

The BELL girls behind the scenes at Bayside having fun in the wardrobe department with stylist Elizabeth Bass! We may get a kick out of the styles of the clothes today, but I think Ms. Bass did a great job styling our BELL characters on such a small budget. Enjoy!

SBTB:NOW! Confessions of a BELL Fan: Meet Alison!

We have our first "Confessions of SBTB Fan" post! Meet Alison. Alison has a blog dedicated to BELL, Buddy Bands, where she discusses how SBTB and other tv shows from 90's have been relevant in her real life experiences. It's a fun read and I recommend you check it out!

She writes this about herself:
"I've been a fan since middle school and just never seemed to outgrow it. It never gets old! I love to randomly say lines from the show in my everyday life but this usually warrants strange looks and whispers. Once in a while though, there is that one person in the room who actually gets it. I live for those moments!"

Here are her SBTB confessions:
1. What is your most fondest memory of the show growing up? My fondest memory is probably watching the show everyday after school. My mom always says she got so sick of hearing the canned laughter while she was making dinner. Also, I remember very vividly trying to learn the Hot Sundae dance to "Put your Mind to it". It's still a fun trick to pull out at parties!

2. If you change one element of the show, what would it be? I always thought it was unfair that Lisa never got much of a real love life (not counting Screech and the brief, one episode flings with Zack, Brian, and the freshman). I would have like to see Lisa with a serious BF. I also still really resent Kelly for cheating on Zack.

3. Who is your inner character and why? Definitely Stacy Carosi because she has a hard outer shell, but is really just a big softy on the inside. Plus, she is the heir to the Malibu Sands fortune.

4. Have you ever experienced a moment in life that you could relate to SBTB? explain. Of course! So many that I started a blog to document such times! Probably the most memorable would be when my friend delivered her baby at home on the bathroom floor - much like Mrs. B. delivering in the elevator! My friend's husband's name is even Zack! (see post: http://buddybands.blogspot.com/2010/06/special-delivery.html)
